C'est Magnifique & Scrapperiket!

**For my September giveaway, please go HERE**

Good afternoon! It's Monday here and so far...it's a pretty usual Monday. But I just got the kids down for a nap (it's always a SURPRISE how that one turns out, lol) and I wanted to make sure I got on here to share with you a sneak of the October kit from C'est Magnifique, as well as some challenge info!

This week, we're sponsoring the Norwegian challenge blog, Scrapperiket. If you haven't been there before, you should definitely check it out! The challenge is pretty easy: use two different fonts- that's it! You can combine with other challenges but you only have until the 29th of September to get your entry in. As long as you create a paper craft of some type, you're welcome to play along!

Here's my take on this challenge:

"One Year"
Tired of seeing pictures of my birthday girl? Too bad! Because I'm not, lol!! ;) These papers are just too pretty to not place my little girl amongst them :).

Here's the prize that C'est Magnifique is offering up for the winner of this challenge:

Remember the beautiful Inkido papers from Sweden? *sigh*...loved working with them. And now you have the chance to WIN them and some fab embellishments too!! So head on over to the Scrapperiket site HERE and get started!

Now, the C'est Magnifique October kit papers and add-ons have been revealed, but if you haven't been over to the blog yet to check them out, here's a look for you!

We are featuring paper from Ruby Rock-It, an Australian manufacturer.
These papers are so soft and dreamy..

We have pulled together some beautiful flowers that compliment this paper.
This month's flower add-on includes flowers from Manor House Creations, Prima, Green Tara,
Wild Orchid, and Maya Road.  What a great assortment!  This add-on has sold out,
but several of the flowers are available in the store.
And we also have an embellishment add-on with items from Want2Scrap, Prima, My Mind's Eye, American Crafts and KaiserCraft.  We have a few embellishment add-ons in the store, and some items are available individually, as well.

Be on the watch- just a couple more days until the full reveal!! This kit is GORGEOUS and you're just NOT going to want to miss out...

See you soon- have a great day!

"One" More Webster's Project!!

**For my September giveaway, please go HERE**

Wow, what a week! It's definitely been busy here on the blog, especially with Webster's Pages projects! But that's a good thing~ you all know how much I love creating with their products :D :D :D~! And today I have one more to share with you for the week, this time my project that I put together for the live chat we had over at ACOT last Wednesday. Let me tell you, THAT was fun! If you weren't able to join us this time, I really hope you do next time. We got some inside info on what's coming up for Webster's, had some good laughs, and talked about our favorite products. Who wouldn't enjoy that?!

This layout features the new Once Upon A Halloween collection. I've again used it on a non-Halloween layout, and I love that it can be used in just such a way. The colors are gorgeous. I can't believe that about a year ago I named the color purple my "nemesis". I LOVE it now!! And since my daughter wore this beautiful purple skirt on her birthday, it perfectly compliments my photos :)~!

"One"
I really wanted to put something together that was as delicate and sweet as my little girl...

Of course there was fussy cutting. Webster's is always good for that! I like to do my fussy cutting before I start my project (as I mentioned yesterday) and because it can take a while sometimes, I like to do it when I'm not actually working on a project. So I'll sit down on the couch while the kids play and just cut away. When I'm not pressured to "hurry up and get it done", I do a much better and more detailed job.

I also love to fussy cut the trims! I fell especially hard for the Large Natural Circles trim. I love the soft, almost "homey" feel of it! I've used it in many different places throughout my layout, including here under my title...

...and here, draped over the top of my frame!

This beautiful little flower center is from the Once Upon A Halloween Cameos Perfect Pack. I've added a little rhinestone to the center as well :).

Here I've used the Cream Flower from the Charm Set as another flower center, with some more bling to top it off!

Webster's Pages Products Used:

Other Products Used:
  • Manor House Creations & Prima Marketing Flowers
  • Fiskars Circle Punch
  • Martha Stewart "Optic Dot" & "Garden Rail" Border Punches
  • book page, seam binding

I hope you've enjoyed my non-Halloween, Halloween collection layout :) hee hee!! I really enjoyed putting it together. And if you haven't checked out the Webster's Pages blog yet today, be sure to do so! They've just announced their September challenge, which involves mixing & matching (which we've been doing all week at the Webster's blog!) collections! See HERE for full details~ the winner will receive the collection kit of their choice!!

Have a great weekend!!

Webster's Pages: Old & New How-To!

**For my September giveaway, please go HERE**

Good morning to you! I'm checking in today to share with you a step-by-step tutorial for combining Webster's Pages collections! I love that you can mix and match old and new lines, and for this project I really wanted to try something different by combining two collections that you probably wouldn't think of putting together: Winter Fairy Tales and Once Upon A Halloween.

So here we go~!

"Girly"

Here are some step-by-step instructions for putting this one together:

Step 1: I always like to start out a Webster's Pages project by doing a bit of fussy cutting, just to get me started.

Step 2: I've used the "Ghosts" paper as my background. And because I like to get the most out of my paper, I've cut the middle out of it (since it will be covered up anyway) to use as the photo mat a little later in my project.
Next, I cut the "Little Fairy Tale" purple butterfly paper down to 10"x10" before border punching the edges. On top of that I layered the "Winter Fairy Tales Die Cut" Paper before adhering an 8"x8" piece from the "Night Owls" paper.
Finally, I added the fussy cut section from the "Little Fairy Tale" paper along the right-hand side to act as a base for my journaling.

Step 3: Now it's time to start to put things together! I've added a book page underneath the circle photo mat cut from the "Ghosts" paper.

Step 4: The purple Perfect Petals flower from the Once Upon A Halloween collection takes center stage. I thought it would be a great meeting point for my banners which were cut from more of the "Night Owls" paper.
Then I added some trims from the Everyday Poetry Trim Pack. Finally, I tucked a Florette behind the mailbox.

Final Result:
Details, details, details~! This is where I have the most fun with my project- piling on the pretty little things that bring the layout to the next level; from the punched strips and bling on my banner to the bows, title, and fussy cut additions- all bringing just a little more interest to make this project complete.

See how easy?! Give it a shot yourself! For the products used in this project, simply click on the images below to get started :)~

Scraplifting: Webster's Pages Style!

**For my September giveaway, please go HERE**

Good morning everyone! I pray that things are going well for you all- they certainly are here. In spite of my multiple computer issues (FINALLY having the tech come out this morning)- I've had a really great past few days. Fall seems to be upon us and I've been canning apple butter and applesauce like crazy- there's just nothing more delicious than the smell of apples and spices filling the kitchen! And when the weather turns colder, it almost seems like the frantic dash to get the house and yard ready for winter suddenly strikes. So my husband finally built a decent wood rack outside and we stacked firewood all afternoon before cleaning up the yard- putting things away for the season, etc.- so my lack of computer has definitely helped in the non-internet productivity part of my life!

I did manage to fit in some scrapping this weekend too. This month at Webster's Pages we were given the opportunity to scraplift one of our fellow designers! I was so excited to see that I would be lifting Jaz. Her work is very shabby, intricate, and unique. There are always so many amazing details to peruse! So I headed on over to her gallery at InspireME and found a layout I particularly loved called "Stardust". She combined classic Webster's Pages fussy cutting with a great design and fun split title. So I went to work!

"Dino Saur"
Okay, so I was really hesitant to use this rather unattractive photo of my daughter, LOL!! In fact, when I first took it, I emailed it to my sister Kelly and made her promise she would never show anybody!! But then as I'm sifting through Aspen's photos, I saw that in the majority of her pictures she's making some sort of silly face- and most of them not so pretty! So why not journal about that? Why not take this perfect example of "what not to look like" and create an otherwise pretty page of it?? So I did :).

My hidden journaling, which reads: "Aspen, you are such a beautiful little girl- but that is NOT what you like to show the camera! You love making goofy, ugly faces like this one- where you look a little bit like a dinosaur...or angry turtle haha! Such a silly girly pants!"

Thanks for stopping by my blog today :). Here's hoping I will be able to return the favor after my system is looked at today! To see the lifts done by the other girls, definitely take a peek at the InspireME site HERE! Tons of scraplifting inspiration!!

Have a great day!

Once Upon A...Sketch teams up with CSI!!

**For my September giveaway, please go HERE**

Hi! I really hope you've all been having a great weekend- I know I have!! It was a busy, busy day for me and I'm just now settling into the night and getting some computer time in. My internet is still spotty, and I have a tech scheduled to come out here on Tuesday. So hopefully all will be resolved at that time!

But I wanted to make sure I shared with you the current challenge going on over at Once Upon A...Sketch! And normally I like to write up my own presentation of the challenge, but seeing as we're joining up with Color, Stories, Inspiration this month- I wanted to make things as clear as possible for you so I just went ahead and copied Nadia's write-up from the OUAS blog :).

Here we go!

There will be FOUR challenges this month at Once Upon A..Sketch for September instead of our usual 1 challenge . This is because CSI has 4 challenges each month. Each challenge will be revealed on Saturday morning (Australian time) to coincide with the challenge reveals at CSI in the USA and you MUST remember that you will have just 9 days per challenge to enter your layouts to the Once Upon A...Sketch sidebar. As you know usually our challenges are month long.
Our winners at Once Upon A..Sketch will be announced at the beginning of October and our Design Team will look at ALL the entries from ALL the challenges. So the more challenges you play along at, the more chances you have of being one of our challenge/prize winners or Top 5 Featured layouts. This is a little different to CSI who announce their "featured" layouts on a weekly basis.

As mentioned before, everything will go back to normal in October and we will have a reveal October 1st as usual. So I hope you guys have fun and enjoy what we have planned for you. Don't forget that the entries for this challenge are due by 2:00pm Monday 24th of September Australian Eastern Standard Time

For this challenge, you must use :
*the SKETCH provided
* all the colours in the SCHEME
* at least 2 elements from the EVIDENCE
* at least 1 element from the TESTIMONY!

"Love My Boy"
