Such a pretty, feminine kit calls for a girly layout, right?

"08-13"
Seeing my sweet baby girl in her girly skirt and rubber boots reminds me SO much of myself when I was young. I was definitely the dirty-faced little tomboy in a dress and bare feet, running through puddles, catching frogs, swimming wherever there was water. It warms my heart to see my own daughter so much like myself :).
I definitely went GIRLY with this one- as much pink as possible! I love using the Kaisercraft die cuts- it allows me to add lots of layers while going more minimal with my flowers. And the background of the Scrap Berry's papers are already so interesting that I didn't really need to add much to it- just a hint of masking and that's it :).

"4 You"
You know me- I've gotta go masculine with every kit from C'est Magnifique, and as you can see here- it's pretty easy to do! Definitely focused on the neutrals here, with just a touch of blue for my little guy Gunner. I love me some raw chipboard too, and these Blue Fern Studios pieces- though feminine at first glance- really add to the masculine touch when left raw.
"Swim"
I loved mixing and matching the Scrap Berrys and Kaisercraft papers on this one. And then I had to add in a bit of junk mail and packaging to compliment the black accents on Aspen's swimsuit. Pretty simple with some layers just seemed the way to go here!

Thanks for coming by today!
If you don't want to miss out on any of the kits or add-ons each month, check out the "Join" section of the C'est Magnifique site HERE for all the details :)

See you tomorrow!

Creating With Sketches: Vol 2: "Puppy Love"

Hey fellow scrappers! How are you? I myself have been QUITE busy. But I definitely wanted to share with you a layout that I created for the Creative Scrappers "Creating With Sketches: Vol 2" eBook by Kristine Davidson. After taking part in Vol 1 last year, I knew I just had to join in on this one too! Lots of scrappy friends in this publication as well and I'm so happy that Kristine wanted me to be a part of it :).

Here is what I created:

"Puppy Love"
Another great photo of Gunner playing with our dog Luxor :)

Let's take a closer look:

I loved using the yellow/orange mist against the colors of the Kaisercraft "75 Cents" & "Pickled Pear" papers. Gorgeous! And you can see I put my microbeads to work again as water for my bird bath :).

Delicious combo of Prima flowers :)

A closer look at my masking and layers, and of course the beautiful "Village Sign Post" chipboard piece from Blue Fern Studios :)

I first used my "Coffee Shop" Glimmer Mist from Tattered Angels and misted the entire piece. Then blotted quickly with a napkin. I then stamped, embossed, and added microbeads. Voila!

If you would like to get a copy of Creating With Sketches: Vol 2, you can head on over to the Creative Scrappers store HERE. It is available in both digital and print form. And today I have a coupon code for you for $2 off a digital copy! Just use "CWS2Discount" when placing your order :).

Thanks for stopping by today~! I hope your week is winding down nicely :)

Take care,

A Look @ Manor House: Part 3

Hey everyone :)~ I took ONE day off from blogging and it felt SO weird, lol! After this, things will slow down- just seems everything was set to be revealed in the first half of the month- so sorry for being a blog roll hog, lol ;)~

I'm here to share with you my last January project for Manor House Creations, featuring more of their beautiful Spring Collection flowers~! And I've used them here to create a rustic, masculine layout for Wyatt, my ever-curious, question-asking, uber-smart five year old!

"Oh, Cow!"
This photo was taken last summer while visiting the in-laws. My mother-in-law's boyfriend owns quite a bit of pasture and farm land and he leases out his pasture to some cattle farmers. The kids just love to take the trail out to find the cows and on this evening they came right up to the electric fence- which Wyatt thought was just awesome :). I was okay with it...until the bull took an interest and came on over- at which point I made Wyatt step back a ways!

I just can't seem to get enough of these gorgeous "Powder Puff" fabric flowers. I've used the "Melon" variety here :).

I've used one of the "Ruffles Muted" blooms as my focal flower, and topped its center with a little bit of bling :). There are a variety of other gorgeous spring flowers in there as well, including "Hayley- Yellow", "Wild Orchid- Green", "Capri- Gold", "Springtime- White", and "Meadows".

Guest Designing @ Scrap Friends: Sketch #9

Hi! I'm excited to share with you today a layout I created as a Guest Designer for Scrap Friends, for Sketch Challenge #9. If you're looking for some fun, inspiring sketches- I encourage you to play along with those offered at Scrap Friends~! I've admired them for some time now and had a great time using the current sketch and making it my own :)...

"Little Pal"
I took this photo this past fall when I had all the kids playing outside. It was just after Halloween and we had our pumpkins laying out for the deer. My daughter found the half-frozen pumpkin intriguing- as did her little friend, our Red Pyle Old English Game Bantam hen- a big breed name for what happens to be the smallest bird in our flock. This little sweetie is very friendly, and if you're sitting out on the porch with something to eat, she doesn't hesitate to jump up on your lap and grab a bite!

I've again used the Kaisercraft "Secret Admirer" collection, which can be found HERE in the C'est Magnifique store. And for plenty of other *NEW* Kaisercraft goodies, see HERE~!

Here is Sketch #9, which I've rotated one turn to the right, to suit my photos:

A closer look, too!
I did something I have not done in a while, and that was using my mask with an ink pad- rather than with modeling paste or mist. After I was finished masking, I flipped the ink-ridden mask over and used it as a stamp as well.

Using my punches on the edges of my cardboard strips is new to me too. I love it when you can add texture of any kind!

This heart paper clip is really old. I have no idea where I even got it, but I know it's been sitting in my little box forever. The color was right and I just added some glossy accents w/micro & seed beads to dress it up a little bit :).

So what do you say? Will you be adding this sketch to your to-do list this month? You have until the end of the month to have it in by- and there are some Top 5 spots to be won, as well as a random winner for a fabulous prize! PLUS, they have a brand new design team with one incredible reveal, so head on over for a look HERE.

Have a wonderful day and take care of you~!

Here is this month's sketch, created by my dear friend Nadia Cannizzo:
