Scrap FX: August Reveal #1!!

**For my giveaway, please go HERE**

Hey there everyone!! Hope you're all having a great weekend so far- I'm hoping to accomplish some scrappy tasks- but wanted to make sure I got on here to post my first Scrap FX reveal for August!!

A new month means a new theme at Scrap FX, and this month it’s travel! I’m a bit tied down with having three children ages 4 and under, so I really don’t get to travel much- other than locally. So I decided to create a page about why I love my state- and chose to scrap a photo of my daughter by the lake. The abundant number of bodies of water here has earned Minnesota the title “Land of 10,000 Lakes”~ and it is most definitely one of my favorite things about where I live :).

"(Love) Minnesota"

Let’s take a closer look at the Scrap FX chipboard used in this piece…

I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again: Scrap FX has a HUGE supply of chipboard titles and I LOVE them!! This particular piece was specially made for me as my state wasn’t included in the available travel-themed wordlets- take a look at the hoard included in the collection HERE.

What travel layout wouldn’t be complete without a compass? I love adding chipboard to my flower clusters and this one fit right in :) . I’ve simply painted it white before using a flourish stamp over top and inking the edges.

Flourishes like this one (Flourish Z) are a staple for any chipboard stash!

I love the backdrop frames that come in the frame packs (like Decorative Frame A Artsy). They’re perfect for adding that “something extra” to your photos :) .

Thanks so much for stopping by for a visit!! If you'd like to find some Scrap FX chipboard for yourself, I have included a list of some online stores currently selling their products under the FAQs tab at the top of my blog :).

BITW "Reach" (a personal challenge to myself)

**For my Giveaway, please go HERE**

Okay, first of all SORRY for being so quiet lately here on my blog! After taking off nearly two weeks last month, I'm trying to play catch-up with my DT work and a couple extra special assignments ;)- and there has been NO personal scrappy time. But last night, I put a stop to that! My husband and brother hauled home my "new" (new to me) scrap desk- so good-bye kitchen table!!!! We got it all set up and it was 9:30 at night. I was tired- and trying to make an excuse to go to bed. But I thought about my poor, neglected blog and said NO!- I'm going to make something TONIGHT- and I've got ONE hour...

Yikes. I'm more like a 5 hour scrapper- but I grabbed up the new "Romance Novel" collection from Prima, grabbed a bottle of gesso and some masks and mist- and just went to work. I didn't over-think things at ALL (I'm one of those who can stand and stare at my page for 20 minutes, just thinking)- just started throwing stuff together. And I'm pretty happy with what resulted!

Here it is, my entry for the "Reach" challenge at Bird is the Word...

"Out of Reach"
I thought that the fussy cut elements from this range were perfect for a "reach" page. As many of you know, I've had a tough time letting my middle child Gunner grow up. So my journaling let some insight into that struggle..."It's difficult for me to admit that keeping you little is beyond my control. You just turned 2 and all the sudden you say all kinds of things...at least when you weren't talking, I could pretend you were still a baby. But every day, you prove to me yet again that you're growing up. And that stopping that is simply out of reach..."

Here's a closer look:
The main bloom in my cluster is one of the gorgeous Winter Releases from Manor House Creations, available for purchase HERE in the C'est Magnifique store. Freaking gorgeous, if I do say so myself...

For the hot air balloon, I took my Crafter's Workshop Reverse Chicken Wire mask and some texture paste, added some embossing powder and dried with my heat gun :).

A little look at my gesso/mist/stamped background- I tried to create a "sky" scene here.

Hidden journaling :).

Supplies Used:
Prima Marketing "Romance Novel" papers
Manor House Creations, Prima Marketing, & Petaloo flowers
Prima Marketing Shabby Metal Treasures (goose)
7 Dots Studio letter stickers
American Crafts Thickers
The Crafter's Workshop reverse chicken wire & wall masks
Martha Stewart Texture Effect
Tattered Angels "Rum Punch" glimmer mist
Maya Road "Hydrangea" mist
gesso, cardboard, Prima packaging
So there you have my personal one-hour challenge! Basically what this shows me is that I tend to generally REALLY over-think things...and perhaps I just like to waste my own time, lol. Actually, what I think it is is I really enjoy the process of creating, and so I take my time...just so I can enjoy it that much longer. But it's nice to know that I can pull something together when given a time constraint :).

I hope you're all doing well. We're nearing the weekend- so have a safe and good one. See you tomorrow with a DT page for Scrap FX!! :D

I'm a Webster's Pages Design Team Member!!!!!!!!!!!

**For my giveaway, please go HERE**

GOOD MORNING!! Yes, it is an EXTRA good morning because I get to share with you my VERY exciting news...

I've been invited to join the Webster's Pages Design Team!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I seriously still cannot believe it, but yep- it's true. I returned from my vacation Monday afternoon, sat down at the computer to read through my week's worth of emails, and there was this dream-come-true message from Brandin, warmly inviting me to join the incredible WP team...I was shocked, to say the least. But hesitate in accepting? NOPE! If you know me, you know how much I love Webster's, and to design for them was something I have wanted for a long time- though I never really thought I'd have the opportunity to do.

I'm incredibly blessed and have the deepest of gratitude for the entire team who saw something in me and extended to me this incredible offer. So THANK-YOU- Brandin, Courtney, Anabelle- EVERYBODY- it's a true honor to be given this opportunity.

Here's a look at some recent projects I have created using Webster's Pages products. For many of you, this will be a refresher as I'm sure you've seen them already...

Their fussy cutting opportunities, incredible patterns and colors, wide range of unique and beautiful embellishments...Webster's is just nothing short of amazing. I'm SO ready to get started! But I won't have to wait long- I will be doing two projects this month :)!!

If are a fellow fan of Webster's Pages, you should definitely check out the member community at inspireME. There you can upload your own WP projects to the gallery, chat in the forums, check out the latest releases, and get the up-to-date info on what's happening in the Webster's World ;)~ this is where I started and I'm quite glad I did :)...

Thank-you so much for letting me share my excitement with you!! I look forward to this new venture in my scrap "career", and to remind myself during times like this of how far I've come- and to never take for granted the opportunities that have come my way. I'm grateful and blessed and never for a moment will I forget that! Thanks to my friends- the beautiful people like yourself who have supported me thus far- you are loved!

See you soon!

C'est Magnifique August Sketch Challenge

**For my giveaway, please go HERE**

Good morning everyone! It's the start of a new month, and that means that it's time for a new sketch challenge @ C'est Magnifique! Here's a look at the sketch that my beautiful friend Nadia Cannizzo created:

We hope you will use the sketch as your inspiration to create a layout.
You do not need to be a member of C'est Magnifique Kits
to participate in the sketch challenge.
It's open to anyone and you may use any supplies you wish.
But, since we are a kit club, there is an added incentive to use one of our kits
to create your sketch layout (which I will explain below).

We will be offering 2 prizes this month.  One winner from all entries (selected randomly) will receive a large prize package.   The winner will also
be able to purchase anything from our Store and have it shipped free
with their prize package - anywhere in the world!  Here's a look at what Leslie has put together for this month's prize which includes a full line of paper from the
KaiserCraft.  You will also receive items from Manor House, 7 Gypsies, My Mind's Eye, Cosmo Cricket, and more!

Because we are a kit club, our second prize is $10 gift certificate to the C'est Magnifique Store that will be randomly awarded to someone who obviously uses one of our kits to create their layout.  This is our way of saying "thank you" to our members.
We will also be "featuring" 5 layouts from the submissions for this sketch.
What do you have to do to enter our sketch challenge?
1.  You must become a follower of our blog.  If you're already a follower, we thank you!
It's easy to become follower -see the left sidebar.
2.  Complete a layout using the sketch, and add it to our blog using the Inlinkz tool below.
Deadline for entering the sketch challenge is midnight, August 31 (US time).

Thanks for coming on over! I'll be back later with my reveal for OUAS!!!!
