7 Dots Studio *NEW* Messy Head Collection! {Feature @ PaperHaus}

Good morning yet again, my scrappy friends!

{Are you sick of me yet?? Ha!}

The flow of projects continues today with a canvas that I created using the *NEW* Messy Head collection from 7 Dots Studio! 

7 Dots is being featured this week over at PaperHaus, and this is what I created for the event!

"Doll"

The perfectly pretty pastels in this collection are simply heavenly! This completely cute photo of my little girl was taken by my sister when she was at my house visiting last, and I was so happy to find the perfect place to scrap it :) Pinks and purples were just right for her :)

I've mixed in some Prima pretties too! Like the Ingvild Bolme resin frame (dabbed up with some Shabby Tote chalk ink) and deer, as well as nice dose of gorgeous flowers...

I've softened up all of the papers with some gesso, and then accented with various chalk inks.

I've snuck in some of the brand new Bark Pieces from Prima- these hearts are my favorites!

A Couple Webster's Pages Projects!

It has been a LONG time since I've had to post twice in a day, but I'm loaded up with projects to share and it suddenly seems there are just not enough days left in the month :)

So here we are! I have a couple of cutesy projects to share with you created using a couple of the NEW CHA collections from Webster's Pages :). 

"Memories" Canvas

Isn't this just the SWEETEST photo?! My little dolly pants and her handsome daddy- such a cute pair :)

I LOVED how Allison Kreft's Recorded collection perfectly matched the vintage filter I added to my photo. And the fun patterns in this range were perfect for a carefree project such as this one.

My favorite? The "Rewind" cassette tape paper- it's seriously way too cute and brings back some of my favorite memories of my sister and I tape recording ourselves. We would do that for hours!

I've used a few different Webster's Pages stamps to create my aged, vintage background. Just a little bit of Distress Ink and it's easy as pie!

"I Love You" Card

 I love the warm, homey, country charm feel that this collection offers! Right up my alley :). I thought this range would be the perfect one for creating a sweet little card for my baby boy. 

As with every Webster's Pages collection, there are plenty of motifs for easy layering!

C'est Magnifique: August Kit {Full} Reveal!

It's time to reveal the full kit for August at C'est Magnifique Kits! We've already shared the papers and add-ons, and today we get to see the main kit, which I just know you will love :)

But first, how about another sample? I really enjoyed creating with this kit, and especially loved the contrast between the reddish pinks and blues...gorgeous :)

"Sweet Angel"

The inspiration for this layout actually came from the beautiful Prima Ingvild Bolme resin angel wings. And what better character than my daughter Aspen to bring one of those precious pieces to life? She truly is my sweet little angel :)

As always, I've taken advantage of the flowers from both the kit and the add-on. I love creating big, fully flower clusters- and there's more than enough to go around with this kit!

Two More for Blue Fern Studios

Hi everyone!

 I'm back again with you today with my other two Blue Fern Studios projects, and I'm going to be showing how you can keep your chipboards "as is" or piece them apart in order to best compliment your work. We all like to make the most of our products and it can sure be fun to see how far you can stretch something. While at other times, we want to use something in its entirety to really make a statement!

Let's see how I did both :)

"Pause to Live"

 This piece is an 8"x10" canvas. Normally, when I create something, I don't necessarily start with the chipboard. But that wasn't the case here. I knew I wanted to use the gorgeous Ornate Heart piece- and I definitely knew I didn't want to take this one apart. It's such a gorgeous design and I really wanted to make something special with it.

Here are the steps I took in coloring this piece:

1. Prime chipboard with gesso; dry.

2. Stamp chipboard with a favorite stamp and clear embossing ink.

3. Sprinkle on some white embossing powder and set with heat gun.

4. Randomly apply some watercolors. The embossed stamping will resist.

5. Apply clear embossing powder to some areas of the wet watercolors. Set with heat gun.

"Key to My Heart" Tag

My second project today is a tag. I've created a collage-style piece using the bird/flourish cut from the Village Sign Post, and a heart from the Heart Set pack.

I actually ended up using the backside of the heart piece. I'd done some stamping and coloring and just didn't like it- but when I turned it over and discovered the random gesso look that it had, I decided I wanted to keep it that way :). I backed it with a transparency before cutting off a piece from the Village Sign Post, applying some sandy colored chalk ink, and then topping off the heart with it.

Another Peek at the August Kit from C'est Magnifique!

Hello everyone!
I'm BACK from CHA...and just had the greatest time! Met a ton of cool people, ate a LOT, gambled (and LOST!), had some drinks, saw a lot of things, and complained about the heat- although I regret that now because it is COLD at home :(. It was really a great experience and I'm so thankful to have been able to do it! Sorry- can't share any photos until tomorrow as we brought my sister's camera with and she hasn't had the time yet to email them to me...but I promise, I will be sharing them SOON :).

I'm here with you today to show you a sample that I created from the beautiful August Kit from C'est Magnifique Kits, which will be revealed in full in just a couple more days. We're featuring beautiful Maja Design papers this time around, and you've already seen my masculine layout earlier this month- so here's a layout that I created using the more feminine side of this kit:

"Happy Girl"

My niece Lilah is just BURSTING with sweetness- and I wanted my flower cluster to really reflect that. I took advantage of all of the colors in this kit and they really come together quite nicely!

One of the Pion Design papers has several of these beautiful border strips- perfect for creating a simple linear design to your project. 

So many amazing flowers join together to create and offer different textures and sizes to your cluster work. If you're like me and you love your flowers, it's a necessity to have the variety of sizes included in this month's kit and flower add-on!

Something a Little Different for Blue Fern Studios {Tutorial}

Hi everyone! This is another prescheduled post as I'm assuming I will be quite tired after arriving home last night that I won't be up for creating a blog post, lol. But I'm sure I will be updating you shortly with news about my CHA trip and photos too!

Today I'm sharing with you one of my projects for Blue Fern Studios. I created 3 projects for them this month and will be sharing them over the course of the next week. The end of the month is always my busiest time- so beware...lots of work to be shared in the coming days!

The one I am showing you today is a project of a different kind. When setting about creating this, I only wanted to do something "different". Meaning, I didn't want to do a layout, card, or tag...I really wasn't sure what I wanted to do...just something different. I have a shelf where I keep things like blank chipboard albums or other mini albums waiting to be created, alterable stuff...things like that. As I'm going through the shelf, nothing is appealing to me. I wanted to do something artsy...but I'd done several canvases over the week before and just didn't feel like doing another canvas.

BUT, I did want to do something that had texture like a canvas. And that is how I settled on creating something with sandpaper. 

Yeah, weird I know! But I thought...hmm, I wonder how this will take? So I set about my project like this...I have a step-by-step for you if you'd like to play along ;)

"Pretty Creative Girl This Afternoon"

I love this photo of my daughter that I took recently. She spent nearly an hour painting and she was just the CUTEST little thing! So serious at times, dipping her brush in the water and then mixing it in with the paint...making a mess, experimenting. Way too cute. I guess we both felt like being a little creative lately ;)
