Good morning and welcome to...October?! For real?
Yes, crazy. But let's start off the month right with a project with a brand NEW collection from Webster's Pages called "Nest". This collection is awesome...and being a family-oriented mama, all the little family-themed items in this range are right up my alley. So many cute motifs to cut out, cards, titles, new stickers, etc- much to love here. And COLOR...tons of color!
Here is my very first project using this gorgeous new line:
"With You I am at Home"
The inspiration for this canvas came from the 4x6 "Family" card cut out. I loved the different shades of eggs all sitting in a row :). And I just went from there.
I applied some "Egg Blue" chalkboard paint from Prima with a spatula to the background of my canvas. Then misted with "Sunshine" & "Worn Leather" Color Bloom sprays before I went to work adding my various "Nest" cutouts and stickers.
I loved creating dimension by layering these little fussy cut frames and heart, popping them up with foam adhesive. I also used one of the vellum envelopes from the Nest "Memory Pockets & Labels Kit" to pull the whole cluster together.
Below my layered hearts I added a Blue Fern Studios "Party Flags" chipboard banner piece. I found that if you use an old paint brush (one that has stiffened bristles) and apply gesso vertically, you get a wood grain effect which I though worked great for this project!
