Scraplifting: Webster's Pages Style!

**For my September giveaway, please go HERE**

Good morning everyone! I pray that things are going well for you all- they certainly are here. In spite of my multiple computer issues (FINALLY having the tech come out this morning)- I've had a really great past few days. Fall seems to be upon us and I've been canning apple butter and applesauce like crazy- there's just nothing more delicious than the smell of apples and spices filling the kitchen! And when the weather turns colder, it almost seems like the frantic dash to get the house and yard ready for winter suddenly strikes. So my husband finally built a decent wood rack outside and we stacked firewood all afternoon before cleaning up the yard- putting things away for the season, etc.- so my lack of computer has definitely helped in the non-internet productivity part of my life!

I did manage to fit in some scrapping this weekend too. This month at Webster's Pages we were given the opportunity to scraplift one of our fellow designers! I was so excited to see that I would be lifting Jaz. Her work is very shabby, intricate, and unique. There are always so many amazing details to peruse! So I headed on over to her gallery at InspireME and found a layout I particularly loved called "Stardust". She combined classic Webster's Pages fussy cutting with a great design and fun split title. So I went to work!

"Dino Saur"
Okay, so I was really hesitant to use this rather unattractive photo of my daughter, LOL!! In fact, when I first took it, I emailed it to my sister Kelly and made her promise she would never show anybody!! But then as I'm sifting through Aspen's photos, I saw that in the majority of her pictures she's making some sort of silly face- and most of them not so pretty! So why not journal about that? Why not take this perfect example of "what not to look like" and create an otherwise pretty page of it?? So I did :).

My hidden journaling, which reads: "Aspen, you are such a beautiful little girl- but that is NOT what you like to show the camera! You love making goofy, ugly faces like this one- where you look a little bit like a dinosaur...or angry turtle haha! Such a silly girly pants!"

Thanks for stopping by my blog today :). Here's hoping I will be able to return the favor after my system is looked at today! To see the lifts done by the other girls, definitely take a peek at the InspireME site HERE! Tons of scraplifting inspiration!!

Have a great day!

Her face and the journaling make me laugh!! I'm sure she'll grow out of it. I've trained my kids well to pose for the camera that they already do it automatically!! it can be done lol!! this page is truly beautiful as with all your pages and work!!

Had to click and see "Star Dust" that you lifted. It's beautiful, too, but I love the clarity on yours. You always manage to do so much beautiful layering/clustering but still your pictures manage to remain the focal point. That's so important to me. Those pics of Aspen are funny, I have to admit. But you'll love later in life that you kept these and journaled about them.

That photo is just way too cute! Her grin made me smile:) And you created such a gorgeous, feminine lay-out for this photo. I love the fun colours, the prety flowers and your way of paper layering.

So glad you decided to use them and to create a page replicating her little personality that pops out when you photo her, all kids love to pull faces or do their own thing when it comes to photos, my oldest still will not look directly at the camera unless i say look at the camera and she is 8!! Beautiful page as always and little Aspen is adorable even pulling faces!!!

Ha ha now that you're saying it yourself, she does look like a little angry turtle - a cute one that is!! ;))
Love your lift, and as Gloann says, as intricate and spectacular as Jaz's pages can be, I really like yours better. You are so so good at layering and having gorgeous fussy-cut details without losing focus on the main thing: the photo. Beautiful work Erin! Mwah!
