Hi there everyone! I hope that October is treating you well so far :) ~! This month at Scrap FX we’ve got plenty of new releases to play with and one of the things we’re celebrating in this theme are all the fabulous fathers out there! There are plenty of pieces to choose from for creating a layout for that special guy and today I’m going to share with you my project that I put together featuring a special moment between my husband and our youngest son :) .

"Father & Son"

Let's take a closer look at the Scrap FX chipboard used on this layout:

I really enjoyed this “Cameo, gentleman” piece. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a “male” version of a cameo before, so I thought it was unique and the perfect little piece to accent my cluster. I painted it first with a base of gesso before applying white crackle paint to the face, followed by pink crackle paint around the base and finally some beige liquid pearls on the outer frame.

The perfect title for my layout! On this “Father & Son” piece I again started with a base of gesso before applying brown crackle paint and then finishing up with some random gesso.

These “Cupboard” doors were perfect for “opening up” to the scene of my layout! I wanted to create an aged look so I skipped the usual step of applying a gesso base and went straight to the white crackle paint. After it dried, its cracks subtly give way to the raw chipboard underneath. I then used a sandy shad of ink and randmly applied it along the edges of the door and the inner ridges as well
