Guest Designer at Inkido~!

Good morning, everyone! I'm happy to share with you today one of the projects I have created as a guest designer for Inkido, a Swedish manufacturer who I was first introduced to nearly a year ago through C'est Magnifique when we featured some of their papers in a kit.

I have another canvas for you today (I'm once again back on my canvas kick) that I created using their Beautiful Memories collection. You all know how much I love my fussy cutting, and there are plenty of opportunities for doing so with this range!

"Sibs"
Another great photo of my boys on Easter. (Can you tell I haven't taken many pictures sense then?? Ha!) Again, another photo I wanted to keep in color and this collection perfectly complimented that preference.

I of course started with some background work until the textures and colors were what I wanted. I had intended to do a step-by-step tutorial of this canvas but wasn't sure if any of you would be interested? If so, let me know and I'll remember to take photos all the way through :)...

I next did a bunch of fussy cutting from the "Beige Flowers" paper and allowed my fussy cut images to decide how the design would go on this canvas. I liked the idea of the flowers hanging from and around my photo.

As you can see, I also included some of the papers in my background, including images cut again from the "Beige Flowers" paper, as well as the "Beige Anemon" paper.

Finally, Inkido also carries a wide variety of stamps! I've used the "Collage Stamp: The Alphabet Collage" in a few different spots over my canvas.

Thank-you so much for letting me share this project with you! I will be back later next month with another Inkido creation :).

Have a wonderful day!

Webster's Pages May Challenge: Stickers~!!

Good morning, my friends! Thanks to all of you who took part in the C'est Magnifique Blog Hop this past weekend- what fun! Stay tuned over the next couple of days for the winner of my RAK ;)

Today I'm giving you a little insight to and head-start on the May Challenge over at the Webster's Pages InspireME site: Stickers!! I think we all- at least in the beginning of our scrappy careers- have been associated with stickers at one point or another. I must admit- stickers terrify me a bit, haha! They're permanent little buggers- and hard to move! So I've learned that if I use them, I first mount the on cardstock or other paper first, cut around- and use them that way :).

I have some inspiration for you to get your ideas going for this challenge, featuring the happy & fresh Sweet Notes collection!

"This Wonderful Life Makes Me Happy"
This is the first time I've had the pleasure of working with this collection and I just LOVE it~!! Yet another photo of my daughter on Easter- I was again worried about being able to get it scrapped in color as I don't generally scrap such bright colors. But Sweet Notes was a perfect match! Gotta love that :)

The Sweet Notes Collection Pack comes with a 12"x12" alpha & sticker tag sheet just filled with lots of little goodies like this adorable "love notes" tag and heart sticker. I've fussy cut the other designs and layered them all for a custom embellishment :).

I've applied the same idea here, but this time I've used the green sticker as my base. You can also see that I've torn some strips of washi tape to add some bits of color to the background. And isn't that resin blue bird just the prettiest?!

This project was created on canvas. I tore apart some dictionary pages and glued them in layers over the entire canvas. Then I covered the whole thing with gesso before adding bits of masking, embossing, stamping, and mists. Fun!

I've used the adorable Bubbly Background stamp in a few different colors throughout the canvas. The "this wonderful life" part of my title was cut from the Modern Romance Sentiment Stickers, and the "makes me happy" part is another from the Sweet Notes sticker sheet.

And of course the always amazing Embellishment Add-On:

How about some projects?? I have two to share!

"To Be Treasured"
After capturing this photo of my two boys on Easter, I was a little worried about finding a way to scrap it in color. But upon seeing the beautiful May kit, I was so excited because I knew I would be able to get it done! SO many colors and options with this kit makes for so much versatility!

From the Flower Add-On:
Manor House: Winters Song: White
Webster's Pages: Perfect Petals: Park Drive
Prima: Lifetime: Mini Stem Roses
Prima: Lifetime: Roses

From the Embellishment Add-On:
Tattered Angels Glimmer Glam: Smooches
Blue Fern Studios: Chipboard: Lattice Fence
"Altered Box"
I am loving doing altered projects at this moment, and this box was such a fun treat to put together! I think that "busier" patterns work great on projects like these, so I took advantage of this gorgeous paper from Les Papiers de Pandore before tackling the cluster work up top. As we draw nearer to Mother's Day, I thought this would be a nice gift for my mom...or maybe even my mother-in-law (depending on my mood- ha!).

Showing Some "Romance" w/Webster's Pages & a Little Share :)

Good morning :)~ I'm here today to show you a card I created for Webster's Pages featuring the colorful and romantic Modern Romance collection. I know that some of you are just getting your hands on this range and are very excited about it! I've had the pleasure of working with it for a while now and I must say- no matter how many times I set upon a project with Modern Romance, it never gets tiring. The timelessness of Webster's Pages products is just one of the many reasons why I love them so much!!

"Romance"
The books/book ends piece was the inspiration for this card. It's actually set out about 1/2" from the rest of the card, but that's a little hard to see here. I built up the background of the card from there. It's a pretty easy setup; top-fold card, with some layered punched strips, a bit of fussy cutting, and some optional chipboard.

Gotta LOVE Webster's Pages embellishments! Just adding a little piece like this one pulls the whole project together :)

Thanks for checking out my project today!

Before I go, however- I have a couple of things I'd like to share. First- I'm not much of one to make a big show of things and often if I'm featured somewhere I like to remain humble and keep it pretty low-key~ but I did want to share that I found myself featured on Ingvild Bolme's site yesterday :)

I simply love everything Ingvild creates- both her own projects and of course her amazing products which I love to use! So THANK-YOU to Ingvild for seeing something in me and sharing my work on her site :). You can see the other talents featured along with me HERE.

Secondly, a final reminder that the C'est Magnifique Kits blog hop starts tomorrow!

Lots and lots of goodies to be won. I will be giving away a RAK as well- so don't miss out, okay??
Until then, have a wonderful day and see you again tomorrow! Take care and all the best to you :)

"Easter Bunny"~ April Prima BAP

Good morning! I'm checking in today to share with you a layout I created using the April BAP sketch from Prima :). With moving into our new home and dealing with one snowstorm after another, I really haven't had a lot of time for "personal" scrapping. So it was nice to just let loose and get this layout completed :)

"Easter Bunny"
My sweet little Easter bunny :) She makes scrapping SO easy! I used a sheet of Nature Garden paper (one of my favorite collections ever) for my background. I love the color palette that it set up for the entire layout- just so perfect for this soft photo of my little "Girly Pants" (as she is known in our house) :).

The April BAP sketch that inspired this project:

And of course I've always got some closeups for those who might be interested:

Ahh...Ingvild Bolme's resins are timeless. I love them. I've used her new Pastel Brown chalk ink pad to color this birdhouse before adding the little birdie to it.

Such a pretty combination of pastels here from flowers new and old. This Purity vine is one of my all-time faves from Prima. And the metal lamp again from Ingvild happily found its home here :)

I used an old earring to bring focus to my masking and mess of beads. I was actually shuffling through a drawer looking for something completely different and happened upon a bag of tarnished jewelry. Gotta love discoveries like that!

Thank-you for coming by my blog today. I hope you've been enjoying your week so far! Take care of yourself and see you very soon ;)

"Hello Gorgeous"~ C'est Magnifique May Kit Sneak!

Good morning and Happy Monday :)~! I hope you all had a wonderful weekend~ we celebrated my niece Paisley's first birthday (aren't firsts the best?!) and got to spend the day with my sister and her family. Sunday was spent unpacking more boxes and getting things organized in our new house. There is so much to yet do- but it's getting there :).

Today I'm here to share with you a first look from me at the May kit from C'est Magnifique. Let me tell you- I think this is my most favorite kit EVER. It is jam-packed with gorgeousness!! AND it makes me almost forget that spring has not yet graced my corner of the world ;)

"Hello Gorgeous"
This gorgeous "model-esque" photo of my daughter could not have been more perfect a match for this kit! Between both the stunning Pandore and Webster's papers, I easily pulled each of the bright colors out of my photo and onto my layout. Also, I'm a huge fan of fussy cutting, and there's just a ton of opportunity for that with the May kit! I love that just a few clippings here and there can really bring some body to my clusters, while adding interest and detail.

You're Invited! {Webster's Pages Style}

Hi there! I'm so excited to start putting an end to the absence on my blog- we've officially survived moving into our new home- amidst two back-to-back snowstorms, and I'm so happy that things seem to be settling down for us. We have plenty of unpacking to do yet- but nothing pertinent and I'm just loving adjusting to our new place.

A few of you know of my no running water, woodsy, wildlife-filled lifestyle- and had asked if that was going to change. Well, we only moved a mile from our other place- and the setting we're in now is even more secluded and we have 8.5 acres of beautiful wooded property to enjoy. What HAS changed, however- is after 2.5 years, we are once again living with running water. And it's AWESOME. Not that living without is not doable- it's just harder. And with three little kids, life is busy and hard enough ;). So we're happy to have that particular convenience of modern living.

But enough with the personal stuff- just wanted those of you who'd inquired to know :).

What really brings me here today is I have a fun project to share with you! All week long on the Webster's Pages blog, we're showing you how to celebrate, no matter the occasion! And since birthdays are the type of celebrations which apply to most of us, I thought I'd put together a fun little invitation for you- and it's so easy, anyone can duplicate it!

"Surprise Party Invitation"
I thought that the Best Friends collection would work PERFECTLY for this project! And just a little bit of fussy cutting brought the whole thing together. In fact, I tend to get my fussy cutting done before starting a project, and then see where each piece fits in. So for the cover, I cut the florals from the BFF's paper and the little girls from the Playmates paper. I adhered them with foam adhesive to add some dimension. Play around with some trims and bling to embellish!

For the base of the invitation, I cut the Checklist paper in half vertically and folded the bottom up and the top down in an envelope-type fashion:

I cut the heart balloon from the Soulmates paper and the "FUN" banner from an older collection, Let's Celebrate. But really- the Playmates paper from which the little girls are cut have a ton of cute little conversation bubble words that would be suiting for this type of project, depending on the content of your invitation.

Finally, the inside. I used the other half of the Checklist paper in here as I thought it would be fun to "check off" the items that apply to your person/party. And of course the specifics of the invite are available on the "You're Invited" card, also from the Let's Celebrate collection. Again, here you could alter according to your own party specifications.
